about us
Support for charities
Howell-Jones is proud to have a charity cycling team. The last charity cycle was the London to Oxford in June 2009 in support of CLIC Sargent, a charity Caring for Children with Cancer.
Our team also took on local businesses and Surrey County Council employees in a light hearted rush hour 'race' between Worcester Park Station and Guildhall in Kingston. Our team went against others on foot (jogging), in cars and on motorbikes to see what was truly the fastest but safest method of transport into work. Our Andrew Petchey was 3rd across the 'line' on his road bike, just slightly behind 2 Council employees, one on mountain bike (who came 1st) and another on motorbike (2nd).
You will see the cycling team out again in 2010 raising money for Charities. They will be riding the famous London to Brighton in support of the British Heart Foundation togetherwith repeating the London to Oxford in continuing support of CLIC Sargent. They also have their eyes on some other so 'watch this space'.
In addition to the cycle team, you will also see howell-jones supporting the community through its staff and sponsorship. For example, we will soon be supporting National Wills Week by preparing 10 wills free of charge. Further, in the same form of 2009 howell-jones will be supporting Cleves School fireworks in Weybridge, which is now renowned as a superb annual firework display for the Walton/Weybridge communities that has the added benefit of having all of its profits put back into Cleves School for the support of its teachers and pupils.
