Life gets easier for consumers – our litigaton solicitors explain


A new law is being introduced (on 9th July) forcing traders to publish information to consumers about accessing alternative dispute resolution (ie a process to resolve a problem with poor goods or services possibly without going to court). Traders will have to publish on their website and in their terms and conditions whom the consumer can go to initiate an alternative dispute resolution process.

Paying for care - reforms proposed. Our lawyers investigate


The Care Act 2014 came into force in May 2014 and it imposes a series of duties and responsibilities on local authorities regarding the care and support provided for adults. Whilst the Care Act does not change the fact that care is not a free service and hence people always need to pay something towards the cost of their care and support, reforms have been introduced affecting how people will be asked to pay for their care and support.
