Civil partnerships and gay marriage still need to prepare for divorce with a pre nuptial agreement

Tory critics have tabled an amendment to the current bill regarding gay marriage, saying heterosexual couples should be allowed to have civil partnerships, if gay couples are allowed to get married. The Marriage Bill was approved by a 225-vote majority when it was last debated by MPs in February.

We are Howell Jones solicitors believe in equality for all and that gay couples should have the right to marry.  However, as in heterosexual marriage, people should consider being prepared for divorce or relationship breakdown, with a Pre-Nuptial Agreement or Pre-Civil Partnership Agreement.
