A painful lesson for a company and victim after collapsed scrap metal

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has reported that a company has been fined and ordered to pay costs after a worker became trapped under falling scrap metal.

Another worker was operating an overhead crane, lifting a bin containing the metal, which slipped and resulted in the worker being trapped and suffering injury.

The HSE found that the company failed to plan and provide adequate supervision.
