Please choose one of the following options in order to make an online payment using our secure payment page. Payments can only be accepted in GBP - Sterling.
To make a payment online using a debit or credit card please choose one of the following options.
- Pay an Invoice
Choose this option If you have received an invoice from us.
Maximum payment amount: £5,000.
- Send Money on Account
Choose this option If you are paying money on account of our fees for which you haven’t yet been invoiced. This is usually money which your solicitor will hold on account of future invoices or to pay to third parties to help prepare your case. For example, court fees, land registry fees or other expert reports. Payment cannot be accepted online for deposits or purchase monies.
Maximum payment amount: £2,500.
Payments can only be accepted in GBP - Sterling and can take 3-5 working days to reach our account. We also reserve the right to charge bank charge equivalent to what we are charged by the credit card provider.
All our payments are processed via our secure online payment facility provided by Worldpay
- How we protect your information - We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, which is an industry standard for internet payments. This means all of your personal and card details are protected using 128 bit encryption when your details are transmitted over the Internet. Our site is secured by Verisign. Click the Versign logo to the right to confirm the validity of our secure certificate.
- Check you are using a secure site - When your browser displays the online payment page, you will notice that the URL at the top of the browser window starts with https instead of http. You will also see a closed padlock icon in the bottom right hand corner of your browser window. Put your mouse over the padlock for a little while and you should see the encryption strength. It should be at least SSL Secured 128 bit.
- If you share your PC or use a facility in a public place - Make sure you are not overlooked as you enter your details and close the browser window and, if applicable, log off when you have finished.
Billpay Refund Policy
If you have paid by card, we will be happy to provide a refund if you chose the wrong payment processing option. We will process refunds once the original payment has cleared. It should be noted that the original payment can take between 3 and 5 working days, and likewise the refund can take a similar time to process.
Except as set out above, payments and your file will be taken and conducted in accordance with our standard terms and conditions of business. These would have delivered to you with our engagement letter. If you therefore require a refund for any other reason than having chosen the wrong payment option, you should refer to the terms and conditions and contact the lawyer dealing with your file.
