Jo Cullen

Jo is a member of of the Dispute Resolution Team practising both employment law and civil litigation.


Employment


An employment specialist through and through, Jo is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association with extensive experience of both contentious and non-contentious work, acting for both employers and employees.  Jo offers  legal and practical advice on the following;


·    Employment contracts and directors’ service agreements

·    Independent contractor agreements

·    Employment policies and procedures

·    Workplace disputes including disciplinary and grievance, bullying and harassment, performance and sickness absence

·    Redundancy

·    Business re-structures and alternatives to redundancy

·    Enforcement of restrictive covenants and confidentiality clauses

·    TUPE

·    Representation at employment tribunal, high court and county court for claims including unfair dismissal, breach of contract/constructive dismissal, discrimination (sex, race, age. disability and religion),        whistleblowing and unlawful deduction of wages.

·    Compromise Agreements


With an emphasis on the prevention of claims and pro-active commercial solutions, Jo offers pragmatic advice on a range of Human Resources (HR) related issues including recruitment, performance, sickness absence and termination of employment.


Jo also supports the Commercial Team on corporate transactions involving employment matters, drafting, reviewing and updating employment contractual documentation to ensure compliance with the latest legal developments and the avoidance of risk.


Litigation


As well as her solid employment case load, Jo  also gives clients the benefit of her wide legal knowledge and pragmatic problem solving approach by advising on a wide range of private and  commercial disputes, including:


·    supply of goods and services

·    interpretation of contracts

·    company and partnership disputes

·    breaches of the Companies Act

·    professional negligence
