Keith Howell-Jones 0208 439 7460
Keith is managing partner of Howell-Jones LLP and one of two owners of the firm.
He is noted for his plain speaking, quick grasp and analysis of facts and documents, knowledge and application of the law and coming up with the best strategies for the best possible outcomes.
His practice focuses on working for people in business and charities, on a wide variety of issues, including:
- acquisitions and disposals involving both UK and overseas companies;
- lending and security;
- directors’ rights and shareholders’ rights and responsibilities
- shareholders’ agreements; and
- partnership matters.
He has a particular interest in limited liability partnerships. He is noted for his negotiation skills when acting for his clients. In the 41 years since qualifying as a solicitor, Keith has built up a wealth of experience in other areas of the law including litigation, advocacy, employment, property and probate. He often draws from this experience to find elegant and acceptable solutions to his clients’ business issues.
Keith acts for many long standing clients, some of whom have become life long friends. He acts for SMEs and local owner managed businesses covering many industry sectors. He is a member of the Solicitors Assistance Scheme and has a reputation as being a lawyer’s lawyer. He regularly acts for other solicitors and for other professional firms.
Keith holds a Master of Laws in Business Law with distinction from Kingston University and is responsible for the management and financial affairs of the firm. His experiences here and in depth understanding of business matters frequently inform his advice to his clients.
He has played an active role within the legal community for many years and was the first president of The Surrey Law Society. He has extensive contacts within the legal profession which is often useful to his clients.
Outside of the office, Keith is an organist at Christ Church, Esher, an ARCO, and sometime Honorary Solicitor to The Royal College of Organists. Many of his clients are musicians, particularly cathedral organists.
