Keith Howell-Jones 0208 439 7460
Keith founded Howell-Jones Partnership with Alan Roper and Peter Scott in 1977. He has been a solicitor since 1969. He trained in London, but since qualification has practised in Kingston upon Thames, apart from two years in Clapham Junction working for the socially disadvantaged. The first part of his career was spent in litigation of all kinds, and he appeared as his client’s advocate in a variety of courts and tribunals.
For many years he has specialised in acting for businesses and charities of all kinds. As head of the Commercial Team he helps find practical, cost effective and elegant legal solutions to his clients’ requirements in multifarious scenarios. Responsible for the management and financial affairs of the firm, he has the experience and understanding of business which informs the advice he gives to clients within the UK and many parts of the world. He is noted for his negotiation skills.
Keith holds a Master of Laws in Business Law with distinction from Kingston University. He is a long time member of Clarity, which promotes the use of clear English by lawyers.
Keith has been active all his professional life with the legal community, first in The Mid-Surrey Law Society, of which he was Secretary and then President, and secondly, The Surrey Law Society as its first President, its Treasurer and then President again in 2008. He has extensive contacts within the legal profession, which often facilitate his clients’ interests. Keith has a reputation as a lawyer’s lawyer, and is frequently referred work by other lawyers. He is a member of the Solicitors Assistance Scheme, and advises lawyers who seek his help.
His other profession is that of an organist and choir director. He has been Assistant Organist at Christ Church, Esher, since 1985. He holds the Diploma of Associate of the Royal College of Organists, and is Honorary Solicitor to the College.
His other interests he simply encapsulates as “fun, in all its forms.”
