Annual Returns – recent changes
31 October 2011
Companies House has adopted the new version of the United Kingdom Standard Industrial Classification of Economic Activities (SIC). It is a numerical code used to identify company principal business activities which are required to be stated on the annual return form each year.
The latest code (SIC 2007) came into effect on 1 October 2011 which means that companies will be required to change their SIC code to the latest classification upon filing their annual return with a made up date of 1 October onwards.
If you want more information about this change or you need help with submitting your company’s annual return or any other documents to Companies House, please speak with our Business Services team.
