The Guardian newspaper has reported that compensation deposited with the Courts Funds Office has suffered a £140 million loss due to inflation.
The Court Funds Office provides banking and administration services for approximately 140,000 people. The Office holds £3.3 billion in compensation for children, disabled people and elderly people.
Compensation does not always have to be kept in the Courts Funds Office and representatives can apply to the Court to place compensation in a personal injury trust.
