Health and Safety Executive release fatal injury statistics
03 August 2011
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has released provisional fatal injury statistics for the year 2010/11.
The HSE reports that 171 workers were fatally injured at work in 2010/11 which is 17% lower than the average for the past five years. The HSE also reports that the fatal injury rate for Great Britain is consistently one of the lowest in Europe.
Although the number of fatal injuries at work has reduced, employers must continue to implement health and safety regulations to help ensure their employees are safe at work.
