HSE fine company after worker has leg amputated

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has reported that a company has been fined after a worker suffered serious injury to his leg after he fell through the first floor of a building to the floor below. The worker’s leg was later amputated.
The HSE reported that the site manager had not adequately supervised the workers at the site and was not trained or experienced in construction work.
This accident highlights the importance of adequate and competent supervision to ensure risks are managed effectively.
