HSE to inspect construction sites
25 March 2011
The Health and Safety Executive (“HSE”) has confirmed they will make unannounced visits to construction sites in London.
The HSE are an independent regulator. They act in the public interest to reduce workplace injuries and deaths at work. HSE investigations can lead to prosecution of employers.
The HSE will inspect the sites to ensure employers are managing work at height safely and carrying out adequate risk assessments. They will check that the sites are organised, clear of unnecessary materials and waste and that equipment is correctly installed, inspected, maintained and used properly.
