Law Society supports the Government’s pledge to ban referral fees in personal injury claims
18 July 2011
We have previously reported that the Government intends to ban referral fees in personal injury claims.
The BBC News website reported that Labour MP Jack Straw put pressure on the Government after a friend was “bombarded” with calls and text messages following an accident.
The Law Society has since confirmed that it is their policy to support the banning of referral fee payments. They have also confirmed that they have been campaigning to ban referral fees in all areas of the legal services market including personal injury cases.
We hope the Government’s pledge to ban them is implemented as soon as possible.
