New filing fees at Companies House
25 March 2011
The Registrar of Companies is planning on making a number of changes to the fees that companies or Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) have to pay when documents are filed. Regulations have been laid before Parliament and the proposed changes will come into effect on 6 April 2011.
Whilst there will be some benefits with a reduction in fees for those filing certain documents online, a number of the fees are set to increase for paper filings. The fee for standard paper registration of a company or LLP is set to double from £20 to £40 and it will increase from £50 to £100 for a same day registration. A complete table of the proposed fee changes can be accessed on the Companies House website.
Those clients who are involved in the management of companies or LLP's need to be aware of the proposed changes, so that they submit the right fee with any documents they file to ensure that the documents are not rejected by Companies House.
