Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell appeals to cyclists to wear helmets

04 August 2011

In July 2010 James Cracknell was seriously injured in a cycling accident in America.  Fortunately, the Olympic gold medallist was wearing a helmet which saved his life.

The Brain Injury Association, Headway has reported that James Cracknell has made a short film to encourage cyclists to wear cycle helmets.

According to statistics released by the Department of Transport, in 2010, 111 cyclists were killed on British roads, an increase of 7% from 2009.  Headway has called for the Government to take immediate action to promote the use of helmets.
