Three companies fined after worker’s leg is amputated
19 December 2011
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has reported that three companies have been fined after a worker who was injured while helping to build Arsenal Football Club’s stadium had his leg amputated.
A truck was driven over the worker’s leg while he was kneeling on the floor. The HSE investigation found that there had been a failure to ensure vehicles and pedestrians were properly segregated. The HSE also found that work on the site was not properly planned or carried out safely.
