What is a Medical or Clinical Negligence Claim?

Domini David, Head of the Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury Team, explains:

It is not enough to show that something has gone wrong when you or your family have been poorly treated by a GP or at a Hospital. You need to prove that the treatment you received fell below the standard of treatment you should have received and you were injured as a result.

Types of claim include:

  • Negligence during surgery
  • Misdiagnosis of an illness or injury
  • Failure to diagnose an illness or injury
  • Failure to advise of the risks of surgery or treatment
  • Care home claims
