Howell Jones is seeking to recruit a motivated and experienced company commercial lawyer to join our vibrant and supportive team. You’ll handle a mix of M&A, shareholder agreements, group restructures and commercial contracts. The work is varied and client-facing, with strong links to owner-managed businesses and SMEs. You’ll also support junior lawyers and play an active role in business development.
responsibilities.
- Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge and experience of a range of company and commercial work. No two days are the same, you will be working with a wide range of clients including companies, partnerships, charities, healthcare, and agricultural clients. Matters include succession planning, asset and business sales, M&As, re-organisations, partnerships, shareholder agreements and investments.
- A genuine interest in company commercial work.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to write in a clear, straightforward and accurate manner.
- Maintain billing levels in accordance with agreed targets.
- Great IT skills
- People friendly, a team player and a safe pair of hands who understands the importance of developing and maintaining excellent client relationships and client care.
- Proactive with a keen interest in looking for and capturing new business together with developing the team.

- Ambition – a UK qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with at least 3 years’ post qualification experience with a strong track record.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with an ability to influence, support and guide people through complex processes.
- Strong, logical prioritisation and organisational skills.
- Strong client focus and ability to partner with internal and external groups.
- Strong team-working approach to build a dynamic and efficient team.
