overview
Giles is a Partner in our Litigation and Dispute Resolution team, with over 20 years’ experience advising individuals and businesses.
He advises on a wide range of disputes, including commercial and contractual disagreements, debt recovery and other complex civil litigation matters. Giles has experience handling cases in the County Court, High Court and Court of Appeal, as well as resolving disputes through negotiation and mediation.
Alongside his dispute resolution practice, Giles advises on family law matters, an area in which he began his legal career and has continued to practise. He supports clients through divorce and separation, financial matters arising from relationship breakdown and arrangements for children, bringing the same calm, pragmatic approach to this work.
Giles qualified as a solicitor in 2004, having begun his legal career as a trainee in 2002. Before joining Howell Jones, he was the Deputy Managing Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution at Martin Tolhurst Solicitors, where he led the team while maintaining an active and varied caseload.
He has conducted numerous hearings, mediations and roundtable meetings and is experienced in assembling the right legal team for complex matters. Much of his work comes through recommendations from former clients and professional contacts.
Outside of work, Giles enjoys travelling with his family, watching his sons play football and supporting Liverpool FC.
