Howell Jones are seeking to recruit an exceptional, motivated UK qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a focus on property litigation and an in depth knowledge of residential L&T law carrying out work for a mixture of both landlord and tenant clients.

We are looking for a lawyer with an excellent track record of client service, monthly billing and fee recovery to join our vibrant, busy team.

responsibilities.

  • You will have experience in all aspects of residential lease extensions, enfranchisement and possession proceedings including recovery of rent arrears, variation of leases, buying/ selling of freehold revisions, right to manage, right to first refusal and advising on service charges and breaches.
  • You will have a thorough working knowledge of all of the material legislation, protocols, and procedural rules. Importantly you will have a solid knowledge of prescribed time limits/periods and their application. You will have a practical knowledge of serving notices, determining premiums, and negotiating terms together with an eye for detail on the associated drafting.
  • Experience in S.20 and similar procedures/matters before the First Tier Tribunal is desirable, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of wider property and broader litigation would be an advantage.
  • The ability to undertake your own advocacy is attractive, but not essential.
  • Great time and diary management and be highly organised.
  • Be people friendly, a team player and a safe pair of hands who understands the importance of developing and maintaining excellent client relationships.

  • Ambition – a UK qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a strong track record.
  • Excellent IT skills, the ability to work with or without administrative support.
  • Case management/Database management experience.
  • Knowledge of KYC/AML regulations.
  • Enhanced written and oral communication, with an ability to influence.
  • Pleading, proofs of evidence, budgeting.
  • Strong, logical prioritisation and organisational skills.
  • Strong client focus and ability to partner with internal and external groups.
  • Strong mentoring and training skills with a team-working approach to work with our dynamic and efficient team.
