Howell Jones is looking to recruit a legal assistant to provide support to our busy litigation and business services team.

responsibilities.

  • You will provide legal and administrative support to our litigation and business services team
  • Assisting in the management of a mixed caseload of litigation, commercial property and employment matters.
  • Legal research and note taking
  • Proof reading letters and documents
  • Preparing first drafts of letters, litigation forms and documents
  • Preparing e-bundles
  • Liaising with clients, counsel and the court
  • Liaising with clients in person, by telephone and correspondence, taking enquiries, making appointments
  • Managing client files and ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate
  • Providing general administrative support to the team

skills and experience required.

  • A minimum of six months of experience in a law firm
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Highly motivated, proactive individual with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under pressure
  • Proactive and able to use initiative to solve problems
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and have an excellent telephone manner
  • Experience of case management systems and digital dictation
  • A genuine interest in litigation and a desire to develop your skills in this area
