Gemma is an Associate CILEx Lawyer in Howell Jones’ award-winning, Legal 500 recommended Private Client team. She qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2022.
Since joining Howell Jones in 2014, Gemma has built broad legal experience across employment law, residential property and wills and probate.
Gemma now advises clients on a wide range of private client matters, including wills and estate planning, estate administration, lasting powers of attorney, deputyship applications, and declarations of trust.
Gemma takes pride in making complex matters clear and guiding clients with care, sensitivity, and professionalism. She is committed to taking the time to understand each client’s circumstances, helping them to navigate personal matters and plan with confidence for the future.
Gemma’s work includes:
- Acting and advising on various complex estates where specialised applications to the Probate Registry are required
- Preparing Wills for blended families
- Advising on and registering Will Trusts with HMRC and the Trust Registration Service
- Preparing Deeds of Variations to redirect inheritance
- Advising on Deeds of Appointment and trust matters
- Advising on potential inheritance tax implications for gifts and transfers of property
- Preparing Declarations of Trust for joint property purchasers
Outside of work, Gemma enjoys spending time with her young family and friends, taking long walks with her dog, Ralph and reading a good book.
